Clearport-Fee Schedule and Refund Policy

DISCLAIMER

Our fees, as published in this fee schedule, may change without notice, and this fee schedule may not be accurate at the time of your purchase. We will do our best at all times to post updates to this fee schedule as soon as any change(s) occur and/or become effective, but we cannot not guarantee that the fees in the Clearport fee schedule will always be the valid fees at the time of your purchase.

STUDENTS

We are committed to help qualifying International Students from any part of the world that want to apply to access the opportunity for an education in Canada. At the same time, we want to ensure that students enroll in the best school and study program option according to their preference, budget, and needs.

1. Clearport basic Student Membership Fee

Clearport will collect a fee of CAD $125 plus 5% GST for a basic Student Membership. This membership is for those International Students who prefer doing things on their own but want to have the tools to efficiently search and apply to schools. This membership includes:

  • Creation of a Student profile in our database;
  • Access to our third-party school search and application, so that the student and/or his/her family can use the platform to search and apply to schools;
  • Access to our Newsletter and other important information about studying in Canada; and
  • Access to our third-party SRT English Assessment and Improvement.

Basic International Student Members can opt -at any time- to upgrade to a Concierge Service Membership, which gives them more personalized support and services, convenience, and peace of mind.

2. Clearport Student Concierge Service Membership Fee

Clearport will collect a fee of CAD $2,465 + 5% GST for a Student Concierge Service Membership. This membership is for those International Students who want step-by-step guidance and assistance in the school selection and application process, in the Visa application process, and 24/7 emergency assistance while studying in Canada, among other services, for their convenience and peace of mind. We will guide the students/applicants during the whole process before and after their arrival in Canada. The Student Concierge Service membership includes:

  • School and Study Program Recommendation: We work with most Designated Learning Institutions (DLIs) in Canada, and will help you choose the institution that best suits your preferences. A Clearport Education Consultant will schedule and have a one-on-one conversation with you to review your profile, preferences, budget, and needs. Based on this call, we will prepare and send you a School and Study Program Recommendation for your review and discussion with us.
  • School / Study Program Selection: Once you approve and select one or more school/program options, Clearport will prepare your application and submit it to the schools(s) of your choice. Clearport will help you to gather the information and documents needed (translation fees not included), fill in the School applications and forms for admission, and submit them as needed. We will follow up with the school(s) to obtain a decision on your application. If approved, we will help you get the Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from the School, which is required to apply for your Study Visa. School fees are not included in Clearport’s fee. As part of your application to school, you will have to pay at this time the school’s application fee and other mandatory school fees.
  • Custodianship: (For minor students only -those under the age of 18). Minor students are required to have a legal Custodian in Canada, who must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident. Proof of Custodianship must be included in the student’s Visa application. Most Kindergarten to Grade 12 schools provide this service for a separate fee, not included in our fees. Your Clearport Education Consultant will ensure that Custodianship has been arranged (including proof of it) before submission of your Visa Application.
  • Filling and submitting Study Visa Application: Clearport has extensive experience obtaining Study Visa and Study Permits with the Canadian government in an expedited and effective manner. We have in-house Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants to help prepare, review and submit your Study Visa application. Your Clearport Education Consultant will transfer your file to one of our Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants once the Letter of Acceptance has been received from your School, and Clearport’s Immigration Consultant will help you and assist you through your Visa application. Government Fees for Visa and Visa Biometrics are not included in our fee. If approved (the Government of Canada will issue an approval letter), your Visa allows you to travel to Canada to start your studies. Study Permits are only issued by a government Immigration Officer at the port of entry into Canada, upon your arrival.
  • Housing Accommodations: Your Clearport Education Consultant will assist you in finding suitable accommodations for your arrival in Canada. You are responsible for your rent, or lease, or Home Stay agreement and costs, not included in our fees. Your housing accommodations must be arranged and formalized before you travel to Canada.
  • Integration: While you are studying in Canada, Clearport staff will give you comprehensive advisory service, including 24/7 emergency calls, names, and addresses of doctors near the home, assistance with accommodations, etc.
  • Land Transportation: When possible, we will arrange for minor student(s) to be picked up at the airport and taken to his/her living accommodations in Canada. As part of your School selection and application process, we will explain your day-to-day transportation options while studying in Canada (i.e., public transit pass for students over 18, or the options of Home-stay family transportation, school transportation, and public transit for those under 18 years of age). Land transportation fees are not included in Clearport’s fees.
  • Air Transportation: You are responsible for booking your flights and for your flight costs, not included in our fee. However, if you want so, Clearport can assist you during the booking process.
  • Multinational Full Service: Clearport has the unique capacity to offer our extensive experience and range of services in all continents around the world.
  • Multilingual Service: We provide services in English, Portuguese, Spanish, Chinese, Hindi, Punjabi, and Tagalog.

Special Application Processing Fee

In addition to Clearport’s basic Student Membership fee or Concierge Service Membership fee, Clearport will collect a mandatory CAD $200 plus 5% GST special application processing fee (the “Special Application Fee”) from any applicant that meets any one of the following criteria as defined by Clearport (which are subject to change from time to time at Clearport’s sole discretion):

  • If an applicant is older than 27 years and is applying for undergraduate studies;
  • If an applicant is older than 35 years and is applying for graduate studies;
  • If an applicant is from Iraq, India, Bangladesh, Lebanon, Pakistan, or Sri-Lanka (or other specific countries as determined from time to time), and does not meet the minimum English requirements for non-conditional acceptance;
  • If an applicant has an educational gap of more than 8 years;
  • If an applicant has been refused a Visa from Canada, the USA, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, or Australia (these countries share biometric information with each other);
  • If an applicant is pursuing the same or lower level of education (e.g., the applicant has a bachelor’s degree and wants to pursue an undergraduate degree);
  • If an applicant is pursuing a non-related educational field (e.g., the applicant has a Game Design Bachelor’s degree and is pursuing a Master of Laws); OR
  • If the applicant holds a passport of countries with a low or exceptionally low visa approval rates, according to student visa data as updated from time to time by IRCC, and which currently include -but may not be limited to- the following: Eritrea, Georgia, Somalia, Afghanistan, Burundi, Angola, Gambia, Congo, Guinea, Algeria, Bangladesh, Cameroon, Chad, Ethiopia, Haiti, Iran, Nepal, Nigeria, Palestinian Authority, Rwanda, Sudan, Uganda, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Yemen, and Zimbabwe.

Note 1: Clearport reserves the right to modify, refund or waive the Application Fee in its sole discretion for any reason. The Application Fee may be added at any point in the application process at Clearport’s sole discretion. Your use of the Clearport Solution following such a requirement and/or change constitutes your acceptance of any new or increased charges.

Note 2: Clearport may also charge a non-refundable deposit for certain programs, which shall be determined at its sole discretion.

Note 3: The Application Fee does not apply to students who are already present in the host country of study, and/or to students present in the host country under a current student visa and applying to another program in the same country.

Note 4: Once a Post-Secondary student has paid an Application Fee, he or she can apply to up to 3 programs, until receiving a confirmation of acceptance. Clearport may charge an additional Application Fee if the student applies for more than three (3) programs and/or is accepted to one of the original three (3) programs but decides to pursue further and additional applications.

STUDY AND WORK

Only Post-Secondary students over 18 years old can work part-time while enrolled in Designated Post-Secondary Institutions (DLI) in Canada, as allowed by IRCC and the Government of Canada. We are committed to help qualifying International Post-Secondary Students from any part of the world to apply to study in Canada and have the opportunity to work-part time while studying under IRCC / Government of Canada regulations. We want students to enroll in the best school and study program option according to their preference, budget, and needs.

1. Clearport basic Study-Work Membership Fee

Clearport will collect a fee of CAD $125 plus 5% GST for a basic Study-Work Membership. This membership is for those International Students who prefer doing things on their own, but want to have the tools to efficiently search and apply to schools. This membership includes:

Clearport will collect a fee of CAD $2,465 + 5% GST for a Study-Work Concierge Service Membership. This Study-Work Concierge Service Membership is for those International Students who want step-by-step guidance and assistance in the school selection and application process, in the Visa application process, and 24/7 emergency assistance while studying in Canada, among other services, for their convenience and peace of mind. We will guide the students/applicants during the whole process before and after their arrival in Canada. This Study-Work Concierge Service membership includes:

  • Air Transportation: You are responsible for booking your flights, and for your flights costs, not included in our fee. However, if you want so, Clearport can assist you during the booking process.

Special Application Processing Fee

In addition to Clearport’s basic Student Membership fee or Concierge Service Membership fee, Clearport will collect a mandatory CAD $200 plus 5% GST special application processing fee (the “Special Application Fee”) from any applicant that meets any one of the following criteria as defined by Clearport (which are subject to change from time to time at Clearport’s sole discretion):

  • If an applicant is older than 27 years and is applying for undergraduate studies;
  • If an applicant is older than 35 years and is applying for graduate studies;
  • If an applicant is from Iraq, India, Bangladesh, Lebanon, Pakistan, or Sri-Lanka (or other specific countries as determined from time to time) and does not meet the minimum English requirements for non-conditional acceptance;
  • If an applicant has an educational gap of more than 8 years;
  • If an applicant has been refused a visa from Canada, the USA, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, or Australia (these countries share biometric information with each other);
  • If an applicant is pursuing the same or lower level of education (e.g., the applicant has a bachelor’s degree and wants to pursue an undergraduate degree);
  • If an applicant is pursuing a non-related educational field (e.g., the applicant has a Game Design Bachelor’s degree and is pursuing a Master of Laws); OR
  • If the applicant holds a passport of countries with a low or exceptionally low visa approval rates according to student visa data as updated from time to time by IRCC, which currently include -but may not be limited to- the following: Eritrea, Georgia, Somalia, Afghanistan, Burundi, Angola, Gambia, Congo, Guinea, Algeria, Bangladesh, Cameroon, Chad, Ethiopia, Haiti, Iran, Nepal, Nigeria, Palestinian Authority, Rwanda, Sudan, Uganda, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Yemen, and Zimbabwe.

WORKERS

Clearport is committed to help Employers find and recruit the right talent for their organizations, and also to help qualifying Temporary Foreign Workers from any part of the world that want to apply for jobs in Canada. In this process, we ensure a strong Job-Person Fit and provide transparent services.

We do not charge Workers any money to apply for a job in Canada. Our recruitment fees are covered by the Canadian Employers, who are our clients.

Clearport, however, urges Workers to complete a reliable English assessment (SRT, available for a price through a Membership fee) that determines their English proficiency according to Canadian standards, which Employers in Canada find necessary and most useful to evaluate individual candidate Workers and make hiring decisions.

1. Clearport Worker English Assessment SRT Price

SRT-Success Readiness Tool, is a reliable, precise, and accurate online English assessment and learning tool that scores your English proficiency and also scores your level in some Essential Skills. It also allows Workers to improve their English proficiency before coming to Canada. Clearport will collect a Price of CAD $125 plus 5% GST for a Worker Membership, which includes:

  • Access to the third-party SRT platform developed for Clearport;
  • Ability to use that platform to complete assessment(s) of 6 (six) areas: Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing, plus Document Use and Numeracy;
  • Ability to take the Speaking and Writing assessments twice without paying again, and to take the Reading, Listening, Document Use and Numeracy assessments up to five times without paying again;
  • Access to a free Personalized Online Learning Plan for each area generated by the SRT platform so that the Worker can use his/her Learning Plan to learn and improve before taking again each of the assessments; and
  • A Report with scores for each of these areas; and
  • A Certificate with Proficiency Level and Score for each area.

IMMIGRATION SERVICES

Clearport has in-house Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants that can help Canadian Employers and foreign individuals with various applications. Some of these services are included in the Memberships acquired by International Students who wish to study in Canada, or by those International Post-Secondary Students who wish to Study and Work in Canada.

However, Clearport also offers other Immigration Services: to Employers that are not clients of Clearport’s Human Capital Management Services; or to individuals who have not obtained a Basic or Concierge Student Membership; or to individuals who have not acquired a Basic or Concierge Study-Work Membership; or to Workers when they require immigration-related services; or to Investors and Businesses. In these cases, there are three Clearport Immigration fees:

1. Immigration Membership

Clearport will collect an Immigration Membership fee of CAD $125 + 5% GST. Included in this membership are:

  • Creation of an Immigration profile in our online platform; and
  • Free access to SRT-Success Readiness Tool, a reliable, precise, and accurate online English assessment and learning tool that scores your English proficiency and also scores your level in some Essential Skills, so that you and Clearport know the extent to which your English proficiency matches the requirements of available immigration programs, some of which you may qualify for.

2. Immigration Consultation

Clearport will collect a separate Immigration Consultation fee of CAD $250 + 5% GST. Included in this fee are:

  • A 1- to 2-hour call with one of our Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants; and
  • A formal assessment of your situation, qualifications, and potential strategy for an application under one or more applicable immigration programs/streams.

3. Personalized Immigration Services

After the Immigration Consultation, you will decide if you want a Personalized Quote for Immigration Services, which will vary on a case-by-case basis depending on complexity and which will be customized to your particular situation, at which point you can decide to accept the Quote or not. The Immigration Membership fee and/or the Immigration Consultation fee may, at Clearport’s discretion, be credited to and deducted from payment of any personalized Immigration Services Quote that you accept and decide to proceed with.

INVESTORS/BUSINESS

Clearport helps Investors and Businesses abroad to find the right investment and/or business opportunities in Canada. Clearport will collect an Investor/Business Membership Fee of CAD $125 + 5% GST. Included in this membership are:

  • Creation of an Investor/Business profile in our online platform;
  • One-on-one consultation calls with one of our Consultants; and
  • Free access to SRT-Success Readiness Tool, a reliable, precise, and accurate online English assessment and learning tool that scores your English proficiency and also scores your level in some Essential Skills, so that you and Clearport know the extent to which your English proficiency matches the requirements of available investment and business opportunities, programs and streams.

FEE REFUND POLICY

Effective: May 2021

Study and Study-Work Membership Fees (basic and Concierge Service): These are not refundable.

School Application and Special Application Fees: These fees are required by individual Schools, not Clearport. Accordingly, each school will have and be governed by its policy. However, and as a general rule, School Application fees will NOT be refunded by schools (whether partially or in full) in any of the following cases:

(a) An applicant fails to provide any required document to process the application;

(b) An applicant’s visa application is rejected; OR

(c) An applicant cancels his or her application before the admission decision was received.

School Tuition Fees and Other School Fees: These fees are required by individual Schools, not Clearport. Accordingly, each school will have and be governed by its policy, as applicable.

Workers, STR Price: Not refundable.

Immigration Fees: The Immigration Membership fee is non-refundable. The Immigration Consultation Fee is non-refundable. The Immigration Services fees are not refundable if an application is refused. The Immigration Services fees shall be governed by the individual Immigration Services Retainer Agreement between the applicant and Clearport’s Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant.

Investor/Business Membership Fee: Not refundable.

Government or other Third-Party Fees: These fees are required by the Government and/or other third parties not mentioned here, not by Clearport. Accordingly, the Government and/or each third party’s Refund Policy shall apply.
